Awards & Accolades

J.A.McDonald, Inc. has completed a multitude of projects over the past 38 years. Projects have ranged in diversity from very complex, highly visible, high exposure projects to less complex projects, located at remote sites. No matter how complex or how visible a project is, the J.A.McDonald, Inc. Team has always strived to produce the very best completed project, on time and on budget, while maintaining the high standards of "excellence in performance", the very foundation that this Company was founded on.

As a testament to some of the success, that J.A.McDonald, Inc. has had to date, in attaining, achieving and upholding the founding principals, we would like to share with you some of the awards, honors, and commentaries stated by our peers and partners.

In 2013 JAM was contracted by the Town of St. Johnsbury to perform the $5.5 million Westside Infrastructure Project, with the Dufresne Group overseeing the project for the Town. As the first construction season of a two year contract neared, Chad Whitehead, project engineer for the Dufresne Group reported to the Town

"Contractor JAM could head into the winter shutdown period with a cost under-run of $300,000, due to the fact that ,to date there has not been a single change order on the project and no change orders pending, thus Dufresne Group does not expect to use contingency funds." The good news, according to Whitehead,"comes from the fact JAM is an experienced, highly professional business with excellent experience and skilled help. Whitehead said savings resulted from McDonald having it's own managers and engineers on site who could get together and discuss any problem that arises and make a decision on the spot."

On a recent project JAM contracted with the Vermont Agency of Transportation to construct a new access road, complete with a new turning lane off of Vt Rte. 103, for the Rutland State Airport, in Clarendon, VT. Upon completion of this project the following was received from an adjacent landowner

" I just wanted to commend your crew who have been working on the Airport Road over the
past several weeks. I have found them professional, courteous and hard working. I also wanted to mention Matt Morin, who along with Paul, have kept me appraised of the progress and have been very thoughtful regarding any issue involving work along our property. The project looks great and I thank you and your team for making this an enjoyable process. Well Done!!!"
Sincerely, Dave & Mary Dransfield
