Rutland, VT - Runway 19 Safety Area Improvements, Rutland Airport

 J.A.McDonald, Inc. is currently constructing a project at the Rutland Airport. This project will mark the fourth project that JAM has constructed at the Rutland Airport over the years.

The scope of work for this project consists of earthworks,paving, drainage, landscaping and miscellaneous contract items. Major construction features include  the relocation of a portion and repaving 4100 feet of Airport Road, construction of a 10 foot wide turning lane off Route 103, construction of a new sewer force main and installation of a new well. 

This Phase 1 project is being constructed in preparation for a phase 2 project which will involve improvements to the Runway Safety Area at the north end of Runway 19.

The major challenges of this project are to maintain access to the Airport, while reconstructing the access road, and completing the full scope of work within the 75 calender days allowed by the contract documents.
